Beef Up Your Sales With Blogs

By Your Gainesville Blog Design Expert

There are so many ways to sell your services in the web arena, but one of the greatest and cheapest is blogging. Here’s how it’s possible for you to beef up your sales thru your blog.

1. Write great content.  You have to offer something compelling to keep your customers coming back.  For example, if you are a restaurant, consider sharing recipes and food tips.  In fact, free tips on doing just about anything will make readers begin to see you as an expert on a subject and begin to build trust in you and your business.

2. Use numbering or bullets. This layout will help your reader scan your content and keep on reading.  Breaking text up into short bits is more user friendly, and often bullets give the data you are conveying more impact.  Also use sub-headers to split up your paragraphs. Put these sub-headers in bold print if possible. This could keep your reader going all of the way to the end of your article.

3. Offer reviews – If you can keep them in your niche (though not in direct competition), writing trade reviews for other businesses and having them written for you is not just good advertising but a good start in dominating a market.  Also encourage your customers to review you on other big name review sites like Yelp.com or TripAdvisor.com.  These sites can send you a lot of traffic if you become highly recommended.

4. Put a Facebook LIKE button on your site.  If you continue to offer quality content, you’ll soon have a dedicated army of supporters who will pass your product on to whoever they know. There’s nothing stronger than recommendation by friends.  Give them an easy way of sharing your site with others by putting the Facebook LIKE button at the end of each blog post you write.  If you are using WordPress, I recommend the Facebook Like Plug-in, which puts the button in automatically for you.

5. Offer videos. When writing an article, take a moment to search You Tube for a video that has content related to what you are discussing.  Just make sure they aren’t offering a product that’s in direct competition to yours.  It should be on a similar subject and be entertaining and interesting.  Videos can offer a huge benefit for your website audience, which of course, reflects well on you.

And don’t forget the MOST IMPORTANT part:

6. Optimize Your Blog for Search Engines!  See my article on the 4 Basic Steps to SEO to give you the edge in making your site search engine friendly and getting great rankings.

Too Busy to Blog? Try Moderated Content Building

By Your Gainesville SEO Specialist

Blog Site Design in Gainesville FLClients are always telling me they don’t have time to keep up their websites or write articles, because they are trying to run their business.  I’ve been looking for a solution to this dilemma and recently came across a concept called moderated content building, which is a great way to get better rankings for websites in search engines.

To begin, I search a content database that scours the web for public articles related to your website’s main topics. Then, I edit the article to make the wording unique. (Being unique is important, because Google now penalizes sites for duplicate content.)

Then, I go in and optimize the posts with keyword phrases targeted for your website.  The articles are then posted on the site either along with the articles already in the blog, or on a different page entirely, depending on your needs.

Google is automatically notified whenever a new post is added and will refresh the site in its index, helping to boost rankings.  And, of course, having lots of fresh content added consistently is the best way to get good rankings, so you can get more traffic to your site.

Here’s how it works:

I do research for keywords related to a site’s content, so we can target them in our efforts.  These articles may range from general to specific.  For instance, if it’s a site for real estate, the articles might be about how to buy a home, or they might be about things to do in the target city, etc.

Articles Optimized With Your Keyword Phrases

I personally edit each article for grammatical errors and to make it read more clearly, and I add more targeted keyword phrases to help relate it to the site and get it to rank higher in Google.

Articles will be added to sites at a slow, steady pace that looks natural to search engines, so sites don’t get flagged for an unusual volume of updates.  For my starter package, I guarantee 2 customized articles per month.

Supporting Modules to Further Marketing Efforts

I will also link the articles on a site together as I edit them.  Internal linking also helps build search engine rankings.

Plus, I will install a plug-in to help distribute the articles to directories around the web.  These directories create links on their sites that link to back to your website, creating what’s called “site popularity” in Google and boosting rankings.  Again, these links will be built slowly, so that it looks completely natural to Google and other search engines.

Keyword Research and Ranking Reports Included

In addition to all these things, I run a keyword ranking report each month to monitor progress as long as I moderate content for a site, so clients can see how they are progressing in Google search results.

Targeting a Specific Location Gets Faster Results

Note that geo-targeting keywords to a specific location is the fastest way to build search engine rankings.  General keyword phrases are much harder to rank for and will take longer to cultivate, unless website owners are targeting a smaller niche without as much competition.

Expect to see results within about 3 months or so, depending on how much competition you have.  It takes awhile to build rankings, but slow and steady wins the race!

Stay Ahead of the Crowd

Clients who update their website on a consistent basis are automatically ahead of 90% of the crowd.  The biggest complaint my clients have is that they don’t have time to update their site.  Now, creating unique content is no longer a chore.  It just gets done, and clients get results.

I’m pleased to say that this technique covers ALL 4 basic search engine optimization (SEO) steps:
